No one exactly knows how this whole mess started, the only thing they really know is that it started as a science experiment that went horribly wrong. More than likely the one who started the experiment was the first one to turn. The world as we know it ceased to exist. One minute, you were living the high life with all that technology had to offer, and in the next, rioters are roaming the highway around you, breaking into cars, and literally tearing people apart. This is the day the dead started to walk.
It only took to weeks for it to spread world wide. A simple bite or a scratch could cause the infection to spread through the body. Depending upon the severity of the injury depends on how quick it is to claim a life. It could be just a few minutes to a week. Depending on how they were in life, they are the same in death, but their hunger for flesh is what drives them to hunt those that are alive.
After a couple of months of observing them, if you were able to get close enough, those who survived could see that these zombies were not like how they were described in books and on t.v. shows. These are worse. These were able to think for themselves and to think of ways to break into the guarded walls, using a disguise and acting as if they were an injured survivor. These were not rotted like most lore believes in either. They could even talk a little, just enough to mutter the word 'help.'
It has been a year since the outbreak. With little food. Little water. Little hope. Who is lucky enough to say “We’re Alive?”
